About NMSHS

NMSHS Front of Building

Nederland Middle/Senior High School (NMSHS) is a 6th - 12th grade public school within the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). The school is situated approximately 8,400 feet above sea level and 17 miles west of the City of Boulder. Although we only serve approximately 250 students in grades 6-12, we operate in the largest geographic area of all BVSD schools, serving a 250 square mile area within the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, and the Arapahoe and Roosevelt National Forests.

We offer a unique opportunity to the students we serve. Located in the heart of Front Range recreation, our school sits in the epicenter of world class skiing, mountain biking/climbing, and hunting, fishing, and camping. With a small student-to-teacher ratio, personalized education is our foundation, and blended learning opportunities are our passion. As we continually strive to bring our natural surroundings into the classroom, we also place a high value on preparing students for the world that exists outside of our small mountain community.

Our Mission
