Elaine Vardamis grew up skiing, is an alumni racer from the 2004-2007 ski team, and was born and raised in Nederland. Since graduating from high school she has competed in numerous nordic and backcountry skiing events around the world. In addition to coaching, she works in ski and outdoor gear shops in the winter and spends her summers hiking and skiing in remote and wild places. In 2019 she completed a seven-month, 4000-mile hike from the Mexican border to northern British Columbia along the Continental Divide, and in 2018 she went on an expedition skiing the Greenland icecap. In addition to outdoor pursuits she enjoys writing, drawing and making fresh, homemade soup. She was the assistant nordic coach from 2015-17 and is looking forward to sharing her passion for all things skiing with the next generation.
