Principal's Message
Dear Nederland Community,
Welcome to Nederland Middle Senior High School. Whether you are new to our building or exploring Nederland Middle Senior High School for the future, we are excited to share who we are and what makes our school such a special place.
As a lifelong member of this community, it is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the principal of Nederland Middle Senior High School. I grew up just north of town and attended Nederland schools from Kindergarten through graduation. I am proud to call Nederland home and deeply grateful for the opportunity to give back to the school that shaped me.
Our work at Nederland Middle Senior High School is grounded in three core principles: Learning, Community, and Involvement.
Learning:
Every student at Nederland Middle Senior High School receives high-quality instruction from dedicated educators who know their students well. Our small class sizes allow for individualized attention and strong teacher–student connections that develop over years. With a range of Advanced Placement offerings, personalized learning opportunities, and focused support during study halls, we ensure students are consistently engaging with complex grade-level texts, tackling challenging math tasks, and growing toward and beyond grade-level expectations.
Community:
Nederland Middle Senior High School is more than a school—it is a community where every student is known, valued, and appreciated for who they are. Many of our students have grown up together, creating a sense of family that is rare and powerful. Our 6–12 model also gives older students meaningful opportunities to mentor younger Panthers, strengthening relationships and building a school culture rooted in care and connection.
Involvement:
At MSHS, students have countless opportunities to explore their interests and passions. From sports to music, theater to the arts, leadership to outdoor pursuits, our programs are open and welcoming to all who wish to participate. Our theater productions include students from grades 6–12; our athletic offerings range from cross country running to mountain biking to alpine and nordic skiing to the traditional sports of basketball, soccer, and track and field. Our choir, band, and orchestra programs thrive with students who have been performing together for years. No matter the activity, every student who wants to be involved can be.
