Clubs & Activities
School-sponsored clubs and activities give students the opportunity to learn more about themselves, their goals and their strengths. Aside from having fun doing something that interests them, students gain valuable leadership, communication and work ethic skills. If you don't see a club or activity that interests you, reach out to the school about starting something new!

360 Leaders
High School 360 Leaders
The High School 360 Leaders at NMSHS are a group of wonderful student leaders who are interested in helping incoming freshmen understand and feel comfortable in their new world of high school. We plan and implement orientation the day before school begins and help throughout the year. One of the great parts of NMSHS is the size, so our 360 Leaders each choose approximately 3 9th graders with whom they share a class, sport or after school activity and they act as a mentor for them throughout the year. High school is a lot different than middle school and with the help of our awesome, dedicated 360 Leaders, our 9th graders feel welcomed and have individual support with this important transition.
Middle School 360 Leaders
Middle School 360 Leaders are 8th grade students, who have been specially chosen and trained to mentor, motivate, and nurture incoming 6th grade students. 8th grade 360 Leaders will train, organize, and carry out our 6th grade orientation day on the first day of school. They also are responsible for follow up mentor activities, and providing a student contact for new 6th graders. 360 Leaders also participate in Back to School Night as tour guides and as an information resource for new parents entering the school community. Additionally, Middle School Leaders plan the middle level dances throughout the year, and the plan and run the 5th grade move up day in the spring!
Information on how to apply to become a Middle School 360 Leader next year will be disseminated to 7th grade students in the spring.

Dungeons and Dragons
Step into a world of imagination, teamwork, and adventure with our Dungeons & Dragons Club! Students gather to play the classic tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, where they create characters, solve challenges, and embark on epic quests together. Guided by student and faculty Dungeon Masters, players develop storytelling, problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking skills while having a lot of fun.
Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or brand new to the game, the club welcomes all experience levels. Come roll the dice, build friendships, and bring heroic stories to life!
DND Club is open to middle and high school students, and no prior experience is required. DND Club meets during recess and lunch every Friday.
For questions please contact John Mitrano.
Mountain Bike Club
Mountain Bike Club offers middle and high school students the opportunity to explore the outdoors while building biking skills, fitness, and confidence. Riders learn fundamental mountain biking techniques, trail safety, and bike maintenance as they tackle a variety of terrain and trails.
The club emphasizes teamwork, perseverance, and respect for nature while encouraging students to challenge themselves and support one another along the way. Whether students are experienced riders or just getting started, the club provides a fun and supportive environment to develop skills and enjoy the thrill of the trail.
High school mountain biking is not governed by CHSSA (Colorado High School Activities Association) and has different season dates, fees, and requirements than other sanctioned sports, but we do participate in competitions as part of the The Colorado League.
All skill levels are welcome. Grab your helmet and get ready to ride!
More information and registration can be found on the High School Athletics page and the Middle School Athletics page.

Student Council
Student Council at NMSHS is available to all high school students. We work as a multi-grade level advisory group to put on events like homecoming and the winter ball, as well as to promote school spirit and improve the culture and climate of our school. We have an Executive Council made up of juniors and seniors who make decisions to be rolled out to the larger group. The large group works together to complete necessary tasks and communicate with their class and the school as a whole. For students, Student Council offers a leadership opportunity to impact change in the school. Students involved become leaders in their class and connect with other class leaders to promote a positive school culture.
For questions please contact Dusty Newberg or Nicole Chewens.

Yearbook
Yearbook Club gives students the opportunity to capture and preserve the memories of the school year. Members work together to photograph events, design pages, write captions, and organize content to create the school’s annual yearbook.
