Social Studies
Social studies courses at Nederland Middle-Senior High School seek to provide an in-depth study of the eras and patterns of history, the responsibilities and obligations of citizens and their government, and the patterns of people, landscape and natural phenomena of the Earth. Through these lenses, students complete independent research, apply critical thinking skills, examine multiple perspectives, ask inquiry questions, as well as engage with and solve real-world problems. Through a rigorous offering of Advanced Placement courses in the social studies, students have the opportunity to earn college-credit in the disciplines of US History, World History, and Psychology.
